Hartwood Farm 2022 CSA Program Details
2022 CSA Share Sizes and Options
(there’s lots more details of what’s in shares on this page and on our Instagram and Facebook pages if you want to see more ideas of what shares look like)
Summer Season shares start in mid-June and run for 17 weeks through mid-October.
(There will be no shares the week of July fourth, so no boxes July 5, 8, or 9!)
Large Shares
Large shares feed a family of 4 or 1-2 people who eat lots of veggies. Large shares include 8 to 13 different vegetables and herbs each week that vary with the seasons. Large shares range in weekly retail value between $30 to $50. For a visual, these shares fit in a 1 and 1/9th bushel box.
Large shares cost $675 for the season ($39.71/week).
Small Shares
Small shares feed a single veggie eater, a smaller family, newbie veggie eaters, or folks who have their own gardens (or love the farmers market). Small shares fill a 3/4 bushel box and include 5 to 8 different vegetables and herbs each week, and range in weekly value from $20 to $35.
Small shares cost $455 for the season ($26.76/week).
Sharing (or Splitting) Shares
Members are of course welcome to split their shares with a friend, family member, or neighbor! While we can’t physically split the shares for you, we are happy to provide space at the CSA pick-ups for you to divvy up or set aside your split share with/for your partner.
Please make sure we have all share-holders’ email addresses, so everyone receives their newsletters and recipes!
Fall and Winter Shares
Extended season shares start when the regular season ends, and run every other week in November and December for three weeks total.
These hearty boxes are sized for two weeks of family eating, and generally weigh over 30 pounds. Pickup starts the first week in November and run into December. Extended shares are $60 per box, go on sale in August, and can be ordered for the whole season or individually.
CSA Payment Options and Plans
We understand CSA requires a different sort of budgeting of our food dollars, and Hartwood Farm is committed to make CSA work for all our CNY neighbors - please let us know if you have any questions!
No payment is required at signup (though you of course are welcome to pay up front if you want to). We do encourage folks to sign up early as we anticipate selling out by March.
Payment plan options include:
Pay in full at signup
Pay in five monthly installments, starting at signup (so $91/month for small shares and $135/month for large shares)
Signup now and pay later either by cash/check or installments
We can do other installment plans or hold the installments until the season begins, so please reach out for more options!

UPick Flower Garden
We plant our UPick garden each year to bribe everyone to come up and see/experience a taste of the farm in person! UPick flowers are included with your CSA share. The field is a short walk around the back of the farm pond berm (about 200 yards). It is mowed, but can be a bit uneven ground. Flowers start blooming around mid-July.
